On January 7th, 2020, the founder of Humanity For Dogs conducted an extensive site inspection of an existing property in the Asheville area with the goal of acquiring this facility to establish a high-risk, canine rescue operation by spring of 2020. The rescue building is in immaculate condition and was custom-built with over $200,000 in funds specifically for the purpose of canine rescue and rehabilitation. On the same property, is a well-established commercial boarding facility generating over $150,000 annually in revenues without any advertising or promotion. The property also contains unused acreage that would facilitate Humanity's build-out of other canine-related commercial operations like burial services, grooming and retail pet supplies.
Our strategic plan is to create a financial, self-sufficiency platform for Humanity For Dogs within 24 months. We believe this unique approach will allow our team and staff to retain a sole focus on achieving our organizational goal of rescuing 10,000 dogs in the next 10 years ("10 in 10"). In addition to the pre-existing boarding business that has been operating for over 15 years with a high degree of repeat customers, we intend to launch other canine-related and synergistic commercial enterprises, such as grooming, burial, and pet food/supplies. Our longer-term goal is to acquire a sanctuary where dogs that are not up for adoption, either due to medical or personality issues, will be able to live out their lives with love, care, and dignity.
"...we are in negotiations to acquire a pre-existing, first class rescue facility as well as a commercial boarding operation - our unique approach is to create financial self-sufficiency by incorporating this well-established boarding operation into our non-profit and finance our canine kindness and rescue through the profits from the boarding revenue stream - this will allow Humanity For Dogs to focus entirely on the rescue and welfare of our canine angels without the constant and draining need to solicit financial support from our community...Chayton Alo - Our Founder"
The First 100 Plaque
The First 100 donors over $100 - Special Reward
The first 100 people that donate $100 (or more) to this building drive will have their names eternally imprinted on a prominent plaque on our rescue facility duly named 'The First 100' - we invite you to join us in this effort today!
We are humbly asking for the dog-loving community here in Asheville and throughout the country to assist us today in acquiring this unique facility and business, so we can immediately populate a now-empty rescue kennel with dogs that are on kill lists at county shelters & provide them a second chance on life. At the same time, this same acquisition will go a long way to providing financial independence which is a substantial & powerful tool in assuring Humanity For Dogs' long-term success.
